Introducing NEWNEW

We are excited to announce the launch this month of NEWNEW for the Green Design Show 2025, created by Nexus Designs + Cultivated in partnership with Mark Tuckey and Crafted Hardwoods.

Everything in NEWNEW has a story to tell and a life yet to live. A temporary structure with a light footprint both literally and metaphorically, NEWNEW takes a disruptive and thought-provoking approach and challenges you to consider how re-use, refurbishment and responsible decision making can be at the forefront of bespoke interior spaces.

Grounded in circular values, NEWNEW houses pieces curated by Nexus Designs and made by Cultivated, a restorer of authentic designer furniture and lighting that may otherwise end up as landfill.

Built by Mark Tuckey, using timber and finishes by Crafted Hardwoods and Oslek Flooring, NEWNEW showcases a creative approach to re-use, responsible sourcing and supporting local makers as a solution to the environmental crisis. Also on show is a plethora of work by local, Australian manufacturers, makers and creatives such as textile artist Heather Thomas, who uses native Australian flora like wattle and eucalyptus to impart hues onto natural fabrics.

Designed to literally unfold as one explores it, NEWNEW imparts intrigue and drama, and is an innovative, exploratory and educative experience about the processes, pieces and people involved in the circular design economy.
