Tapestry Design Prize 2025 – Entries Closed

The annual Tapestry Design Prize is one of the most unique and exceptional prizes in the country. Nexus Designs has partnered with the Australian Tapestry Workshop’s annual award this year along with the Robin Boyd Foundation, Kennedy Nolan and Architecture Media. Entries are now closed for the 2025 prize but we will be sharing progress as this exciting initiative unfolds.

Applicants will have the opportunity to create designs for five distinct spaces within the iconic Boyd House II on Walsh Street in Melbourne’s South Yarra, designed by distinguished Australian modernist architect Robin Boyd.

Judged by a panel including our own director Sally Evans, the five finalist’s designs will be woven into tapestry at the Australian Tapestry Workshop – our neighbours in South Melbourne – and exhibited at Walsh Street in November.

Patrick Kennedy, Principal at Kennedy Nolan, and Cassie Hansen, Editor InteriorsAU, Architecture Media are the other two jury members for the award open to artists, architects, interior designers and creatives with entries closing Monday 19 May.

With a first prize of $5,000 and a People’s Choice prize of $1,000, all five finalists will receive a $1,000 artist fee. Nexus Designs is proud to be a Project Partner of the prize, together with the Robin Boyd Foundation, Envelope Group, Metal Manufacturers Limited and Architecture Media.
